College Access Partnerships

College Access Partnerships (CAP) strives to promote access to higher education, and students are at the center of what we do each and every day across Western North Carolina. Our students have access to a variety of programming opportunities to help them succeed along their educational pathways.

GEAR UP group

GEAR UP

GEAR UP is a federally funded college access program designed to increase the number of students who are prepared to enter and succeed in postsecondary education immediately after high school.

Upward Bound group

Upward Bound

Upward Bound provides academic support to high school students so they may complete high school, enroll in college, and successfully obtain a college degree.

On Ramp Appalachia group

On Ramp Appalachia

On Ramp Appalachia aims to promote increased access to postsecondary education and workforce development particularly for students in rural areas, helping students who do not have college and career plans to identify their pathway to college and careers, and increasing college graduation rates.

Young Eisner Scholars (YES) group

Young Eisner Scholars (YES)

YES-Appalachia works with students from schools in Ashe and Watauga counties of North Carolina, supporting their Scholars in achieving their dream postsecondary goals.

Advise NC at App State group

Advise NC at App State

Advise NC at Appalachian State recruits and trains recent college graduates to serve as Next Step Advisers in partner high schools located throughout western North Carolina.
